The soapstone used in the products of Brazilian Ice range in age from 300 to 400 million years old. Soapstone is comprised of many minerals including talc, chlorite, dolomite, quartz, magnesium, mica, pyroxene, amphibole, serpentine, calcite, and iron oxides. Its colors can include from grey/black, green/black, grey, charcoal, black, and dark green.
Brazilian Ice products are food-safe, stain-resistant, and impenetrable by bacteria. IMPORTANT: Do not place your Brazilian Ice products in the microwave, as trace metals may cause them to arc and explode.
